Dr. Shannon Koenders
Dr Shannon Koenders grew up in Sioux Falls, SD. Following optometry school, she completed a residency program in pediatric optometry, vision therapy, and neurorehabilitation and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr Koenders serves as a Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Opening Eyes program in Minnesota and has served on optometry missions in Mexico. Her special interests include working with kids and patients with intellectual disabilities, and she strives to provide quality eye care to every person she sees. Dr. Koenders and her husband live in Elk River and enjoy spending time with friends and family, biking, gardening, and playing with their dogs.
Education:
Dr. Koenders received her BA in Biology at Luther College. She completed her Doctor of Optometry studies at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, TX.
